Advisories

Run the Critical Advisories saved queries in Query Builder to find CVE-related vulnerabilities, and turn on advisory emails.

Guard publishes advisories for critical CVEs in two places: as pre-built queries you can run against your data, and as email alerts. This guide shows you how to use both.

Run an advisory query

Each advisory is a saved query that finds the vulnerabilities in your account related to one CVE.

  1. Go to Insights and open the Query Builder tab.
  2. In the Saved Queries sidebar, open the Critical Advisories folder.
  3. Select an advisory. Each one is named by its CVE ID and title, and its description summarizes the vulnerability.
  4. Run the query to see the matching vulnerabilities in your account.

If the query returns no results, Guard has not found that vulnerability on your attack surface.

Get advisory emails

  1. Open the account menu and select User Profile.
  2. Under Notification Preferences, turn on Security Advisory Emails.

Guard then emails you about critical CVE and threat advisories.
