What are assets?

An asset is a single entity discovered from a seed. Chariot creates a new asset whenever it discovers one of the following:

  • IPv4 address
  • IPv6 address
  • GitHub repository

Viewing and managing assets

You can explore the assets detected by Chariot on the Assets page:

Prioritize Assets

Chariot allows users to mark assets as "High Priority". To mark a single asset as High Priority, click the three-dot menu to the right of an asset and select PriorityHigh:

Chariot will add all High-Priority assets to its web crawler, which checks for hard-coded secrets, cross-site scripting, and other web application vulnerabilities. Prioritized assets also appear at the top of the assets page:

Export Assets

To export assets into a machine-readable format, click the Actions drop-down menu and select one of the Export options. Chariot will export all selected assets into the specified file format. If no assets are selected, Chariot will export all assets in your account:

To prevent stale assets from accumulating, Chariot considers assets not seen in seven days as expired and will remove them from the system.

Asset details

Clicking on an individual asset opens a drawer tab displaying additional information about the asset:

Clicking the Show Attributes button will display all attributes associated with that asset. Attributes are additional flexible information about the asset, including open ports, discovered technologies, parent seed, and more:
