First-Time User Guided Walkthrough

The guided walkthrough is a structured onboarding experience that appears on first login. It introduces Guard's core sections through a spotlight UI, helping new users orient themselves before their first independent session.

How the walkthrough works

Welcome modal

When a new user logs in to Guard for the first time, a welcome modal is displayed. From this modal, the user can choose to:

• Start the tutorial — begin the step-by-step walkthrough immediately.
• Skip — dismiss the modal and explore the platform independently.

Step-by-step spotlight

If the tutorial is started, Guard highlights key UI elements in sequence. Each step identifies a specific section of the platform and briefly explains its purpose. The spotlight progresses through Guard's core modules so users understand what is available and where to find it.

Skipping mid-walkthrough

The tutorial can be exited at any point during the walkthrough. Closing or skipping the tutorial does not affect account access or platform functionality.

Availability

The guided walkthrough appears automatically for new users on their first login. It does not appear again on subsequent logins once it has been completed or skipped.

Frequently asked questions

Can I restart the tutorial after skipping it? The walkthrough is triggered automatically on first login only. If you skipped it and would like a guided overview of the platform, contact your Praetorian representative or refer to the platform documentation for guidance on individual modules.

Does skipping the tutorial affect my account? No. Skipping the walkthrough has no effect on your account configuration, permissions, or access to any Guard features.
