Inbound Webhook

How to generate the URL that ingests objects into Guard from Settings → Notifications.

The Inbound Webhook card on Settings → Notifications gives your account one URL that external sources can send objects to. The card reads Use this URL to ingest objects into Chariot from external sources.

This is separate from Outbound Webhooks, where Guard sends notifications out to your endpoint. Each account has at most one inbound URL.

Only users who can manage settings see Generate URL and Disconnect. Anyone who can open the card can copy an existing URL.

Generate the URL

  1. Click Generate URL. Guard shows Webhook URL generated successfully.
  2. Click Copy URL. The button flashes green and Guard shows Webhook URL copied to clipboard.

The URL is unique to your account. Treat it as a secret: anyone who has it can send objects into your account.

Replace or remove the URL

Click Disconnect to remove the URL. Guard removes it immediately, without a confirmation step, and shows Webhook disconnected successfully. Anything still sending to the old URL stops being accepted.

To get a new URL, click Generate URL again and update your external sources with it.
