Chat Messaging

How Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, and Zulip alert destinations are added from Settings → Notifications.

Chat Messaging on Settings → Notifications lists the chat destinations that receive Guard alerts. The card copy is: Send alerts to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, or Zulip.

Add a destination

Click Add Integration. This opens the Workplace Messaging integrations, the same connect flow as on the Integrations page. Setup for each provider is covered under Integrations → Workplace Messaging. The button appears only for users who can manage settings.

Supported destinations:

  • Slack (webhook alerts, not the Marcus chat app)
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Google Chat
  • Zulip

The Marcus Slack app is a separate integration; see Slack – Marcus Chat Integration. When it is enabled for the account, this card also shows the Connected Chat Channels panel.

Manage a connected destination

Each connected destination is a row in the table.

  • Edit opens the provider's configuration, where you can change the Severity Threshold: the lowest severity that sends an alert (Critical, High, Medium, Low, or Info). Chat destinations have no source filter; that option exists only for email.
  • Delete disconnects the destination.
