Integration Credential Alert Modal
How Guard notifies admin users of expired or invalid integration credentials at sign-in and how to resolve the prompt.
Guard surfaces expired or invalid integration credentials to admin users at sign-in through a mandatory modal. This ensures credential issues are addressed before they cause silent job failures or data gaps.
Who sees the modal
The modal appears for admin users only. It is shown at every sign-in when one or more integrations across any tenant accessible to that user has expired or otherwise invalid credentials.
Non-admin users are not shown the modal regardless of credential state.
How the modal behaves
The modal is non-dismissible by design:
- There is no close button.
- Pressing Escape does not close it.
- Clicking outside the modal does not close it.
- There is no snooze or defer option.
The only way to clear the modal is to navigate to Integrations and address the credential issue for each affected tenant.
Navigating to the affected integration
The modal identifies which tenants have credential problems and provides a direct link to the relevant Integrations credential refresh form for each. Use these links to go directly to the affected integration without manually searching through the tenant list.
Ten-minute cooldown
After you navigate to Integrations from the modal, a per-user cooldown of ten minutes is applied for the current session. The modal will not reappear during this cooldown period, giving you time to complete the credential update without being immediately re-prompted upon returning to other areas of the platform.
Once the cooldown expires, the modal will reappear at your next sign-in if any credentials remain invalid.
Resolving the credential issue
- When the modal appears, review the list of affected tenants.
- Select the link for the tenant whose credentials need to be updated.
- On the Integrations page, locate the flagged integration and follow the credential refresh steps specific to that integration type.
- Repeat for each additional affected tenant if more than one is listed.
- Once all credentials are valid, the modal will no longer appear at sign-in.
Why this prompt is mandatory
Expired integration credentials can cause scheduled jobs to fail silently, resulting in missing scan data, stale asset inventories, or incomplete findings. The non-dismissible prompt ensures admin users cannot inadvertently bypass a credential issue that would otherwise go unnoticed until a data gap is discovered downstream.
