Seeds

IPs

Add IP addresses and CIDR ranges as discovery seeds from the CIDR Ranges tab and review their ISP and country details.

The CIDR Ranges tab on the Seeds page holds IP address and CIDR range seeds. This guide walks you through adding an IP range.

Open CIDR Ranges

  1. Go to Seeds and select the CIDR Ranges tab.

Add an IP or CIDR range

  1. Click Add Seeds.
  2. Select Network Assets.
  3. Under Network access, leave External selected for public addresses. For a private address or range, switch to Internal. A private range is rejected while External is selected.
  4. Enter each address or CIDR range on its own line (for example 203.0.113.0/24 on External, or 192.168.1.0/24 on Internal), or click Import from File to load an XLSX, CSV, or TXT file.
  5. Click Add Seeds. When Internal is selected, Scan from endpoint is optional.

Columns

The table shows Status, CIDR Range/IP Address, Aegis Endpoint, Registrant, Origin, First Seen, and Last Seen.

Customer, Internet Service Provider, Country, Scan Profile, Tags, and Confidence stay hidden until you enable them from the columns gear (Manage columns). Registrant, provider, and country values appear once Guard has enriched the range.
